How would you rank the staff of Planet Express (i.e. the regulars in every episode) in order from generally most to generally least intelligent?
This is how I would do it: 1. Leela (regularly offers well-thought insight, shows more emotional maturity) 2. Hermes (not much socially but very strong in the left brain) 3. Farnsworth (a Frink thing -- supposed to be super-smart but comes off as clumsy and out-of-touch) 4. Bender (crafty; uses intelligence mostly for evil, not good) 5. Zoidberg (he's an MD, that has to count for something) 6. Fry (he could easily pass as the stupidest, but he occasionally catches on to something when other characters don't) 7. Amy (other than being bilingual, she seems like a stereotypical shallow teenybopper)
Agreed. Although lately she's been the more emotionally confused one of the bunch, I don't think that affects her intelligence. Her judgement, sure, but not her smarts.
I don't think we've even seen the 'smart Hermes' yet, we just get flashes of brilliance. He'll have his day in the sun soon enough.
I would drop the Prof down on the list. He may have been a super genius about a hundred years ago, but at this stage, he's forgotten more than he remembers. I'd put him at #5 behind Bender and Zoidberg.
And I'd swap Bender and Zoidberg. Actually, Bender shouldn't even count. He's intelligent, but it's artificial. He's only smart because he was programmed that way. To me, "intelligence" is a human thing, or at least a living being thing.
Depends on where he went to Med School, but yeah. Anyone able to earn an advanced degree must be pretty smart.
Sure, in fact he may even be one of the smarter ones if you take areas of knowledge into account. He probably remembers enough about the 20th century to teach ancient history classes at Mars U.
True. For the most part, she's an extraneous character. The only reason she's there is because a 2nd female character was needed to balance the "Leela and the guys" image.
