For comical effect, it could have bonus hidden games like the intro game of th e first level.
For simplicties sake, one could make one based on the episodes.
Though the best game I've played that was also comical was Sam and Max. Though its a movie game(You must the red key to continue games), I found it VERY humourous. Some people liked maniac mansion too. It seems like the succe ssful comdey games use the linear quest style method to play. And I'd have to agree. I mean, remember Zork, typing jump when you're on the bridge? All the comical factors are there in quest games, where items trigger things, or talking, or just using stuff. Linear games are very relevant to cartoon comedies too. The viewer should be 'watching' more than playing. It has to be ergonomical too, but not incredibly easy so they can beat it too fast, but the things that slow the user down should also be as entertaining as they slow the adventurer.
I don't think 3d is where they want to go with this. for a good failure, look at south park for the n64. South park is on its own spectrum, but 3d shootin g really isn't that 'funny' what you were looking for when you buy the game.
I'd be very displeased if they made a game that wasn't a linear quest game. I hate all linear quest games unless they are cartoon comedies. I'm a big fan o f many other types of games too. What is cool is that linear quest games are easy to code too. If provided with art work, a story board, and what stuff do es to what, I could code a commercial quality game by myself in 3 months. A t eam of programmers, working on this for 6 months could not only complete the g ame, but add in so many bells and whistles that'd people would talk of the gam e play. Maybe a 3d virtual world(something just to be impressive of the futur e) could be built, but I'd be upset if it wasn't primarily quest driven, or th e time taken to make the game rendered 3d detracting from the game.
