How can Zoidberg's father still be living if their species dies immediately after mating?
References: The one (sorry I don't know the title or episode numbers) when Zoidberg's father is a living but washed up silent film maker. Versus the one where Zoidberg gets the mating urge, travels to his home planet and escapes gruesome death only because no female would have him.

Which explains how that character can exist, but not how his mother "sure you can be a doctor, if you've given up your dream of becoming a comedian" was around in his younger years.
The episode is A Taste Of Freedom and it's neer specified that's his mother.
