video game

anybody have the futurama video game? i heard when i came out it wasn't that good but now i'm thinking about getting it. anybody can give me a review about it??

I'm not a huge playstation fan, but back in my day I used to really like video games (during the 80s).

I picked this up used about a year ago, and I dug it. I guess I liked it because it was Futurama, and not because it was a game. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a big fan of the show, in which case it was pretty cool.

It's your typical 3D-character "get from Point A to Point B, either by killing enemies or solving some sort of puzzle" game, with Futurama characters and voices. There's a "bonus" element in which you have to find Nibblers in cages on pretty much every level, and if you find all of the Nibblers on a level, your save game includes the between-level video clips and graphics and the level's music. (Note that, in some cases, this takes you completely out of the way of the path to complete the level and can make it much harder.) If you can get it for $20, it's worth considering.

Some of the characters don't transfer well to 3D; Fry's hair looks strange if he is facing you, and Leela's hair is more pink than purple.

Technically, Fry, Leela, and Bender all end up killed, and Mom has Professor Farnsworth's head in a jar. (The game plays in an "infinite loop" of sorts; the game begins with Professor Farnsworth telling Fry, Leela, and Bender that he sold Planet Express to Mom, and near the end of the game, Fry, Leela, and Bender travel back in time to try to stop him and end up getting crushed by Mom's Destructor robot, immediately after which Professor Farnsworth completes the deal and the opening scene repeats itself. However, in "linear time", once Fry, Leela, and Bender go back in time, they no longer exist.)
