And the NFL, once again, screws us out of Futurama...

The last new episode I recorded (according to the time-stamp on the tape) was back in May. So, after months of waiting, I settle down to watch the first new episode in over 1/2 a year.

What do I get? The final 5 minutes of the Washington/Arizona game. And, as we know, the last five minutes of a football game last 30 minutes or more...easily.

So, once again, no Futurama for Ohio until...whenever. I'm assumning that much of the eastern seaboard was also screwed over. It's nice to see that Futurama is still as disrespected at Fox as it was last season. I was being to fear that Fox gave a damn.

In the name of all that's Holy, if A Tale of Two Santas gets yanked or pre-empted again, I'm swearing off the Fox Network completely.

Tim....actually the East coast (at least up here in Maine) got the full new episode. Not a bad episode....but, I didn't laugh out loud like I was hoping to...anyway, still good to see it.

If you visit the #futurama IRC channel the new ep should be up and avail for d/l by tomorrow.....Unless Fox replays the ep late tonight for you....

Same in the DC area (of course, since it is the skins). FOX 5 said they were gunna show Futurama, but the game went over as usual.

The next new episode is in two weeks, and since it's on at 9:30 Eastern, there shouldn't be a problem with the NFL - unless the Fox affiliate in Indianapolis has the local broadcast rights to the ESPN game that night, and you happen to be in Indianapolis at the time...

Question: was the episode joined in progress? If not, there's a chance it was shown later that night (or may even be moved to another day; I suggest calling the station and asking them).

Here is Washington, the game ran until about 7:20, and the postgame show took the rest of the timeslot.

So, we're still waiting for the "season premiere".

Oh well, it's only two more weeks to the Christmas episode, unless Fox decides to cancel that. And the football season ends in February.

Looks like I made a smart choice and not get my hopes up about the Futurama season premiere (I live in the DC area). BTW, has Fox ever thought about moving the show to Wednesday at 8:00?

I know at one time it was on Tuesday at 7:30 or 8, which was annoying. I'm in the Carolina Panthers zone, but not blackout zone. Not that close to Charlotte. I got a full Futurama. Not only that, I turned on the TV at 6:50 and a rerun of Seinfeld was on.

Maybe they should replace That 70s Show with Futurama. Or cancel That 80s Show.

You are under the delusion that TV is for your entertainment. It is not. The purpose of TV is to sell commercials. Football sells commercials at a higher price than Futurama. So Fox goes with what makes more money for them. The only purpose of Futurama is to fill the dead air time when there is no football available.
