Has anyone else "given up" on Futurama?

What I mean is, do you still make any effort to see if it's coming on? It's pre-empted so often, and comes on an hour too soon in any case (6pm CST) that I missed all but one or two episodes last season. TV listings have been unreliable (although I still review Don Del Grande's posts, THANKS!) that when friends in other cities mentioned they had seen a recent episode, it was usually too late to do anything about it.

I don't think this is something FOX wants to hear - that basically, the chances it *won't* be on are big enough, it's not worth the effort to check anymore. I'm looking forward to the DVD's when they become available. Hopefully, any future Groening productions will be on another network. Any chances that Futurama could be picked up by NBC, ABC, or (shudder) UPN or WB?

I don't take either tactic--I hang ghostlike around the TV mute button on the Sundays when the show is supposed to be on and turn on the sound once the evil f-word is over and the nice animations come on. Once the show is on for real, I value it like the treasure it is (then wait with dread for the Simpsons to come on in half an hour and disgust me again...).

Whoops only one of them was successful. But your right I forgot about JAG. But I still don't see Futurama moving. Except possibly to Comedy Central (where it will go if FOX cancels it anyway) but I doubt CC has the kind of cash to keep Futurama going at the level FOX can.

I would love to see Comedy Central get Futurama. It would be on more than once and it would be one of the networks most popular shows. At Fox it's way down on the ladder. I would not love to have it go to Comedy Central for the same reason I hated Babylon 5 going to TNT. I don't have or want Cable.

Not just you, a lot fewer people get Comedy Central than Fox. However, at Fox, Futurama will be lucky to last two more seasons. I'd like to see CC get it rather than have it canceled. Of course it would be even better if Fox would give it a better slot.

Bottom line, it ain't gonna happen anyway.

I often accidentally call "Comedy Central" "Saturday Night Live". This is probably because that's the only non-offensive show keeping it on the air. Yeah, I mean that. Even things like "The Love Toilet" and "Carbonated Douche" seem less offensive than their crappy flagship. BRING BACK MONTY PYTHON AND MST3K! DAMN YOU DOUG HERZOG!!!!!

Uhh FOX contracts between 18-24 episodes a year. And they don't come cheap either. Comedy central I don't think has the kind of capital to really sustain more then a couple of their own shows. it's mostly a syndication station.

If anyone cares, I haven't given up on Futurama. I'm still holding out for December 9th when it's new season finally hits the airwaves!
