All the hysteria was fed by upper management who didn't even have a clue what the y2k bug was. It is NOT a computer's inability to handle the year 2000. "00" can represent 2000 just as easily as 1900, 2100, etc. The bug has to do with doing date arithmetic on two digit years that span centuries. For example, having a credit card with an expiration of 01 while today's date is 99. A sinple comparison would indicate that the card expired 98 years ago. After the rollover, such a bug would disapear as today's year is 00 and having an expiration date of 01 is no problem.

Obviously NBC expected a bomb to go off, and have him give a speech on site. isn't that kinda morbid thinking?

The worst David Jennings had to say was there is a traffic jam for the Phish concert. I didn't hear he just said a traffic jam, and my cousin, who is prolly the person I love the most in the world(in a friend way) was down there. Just by seeing David Jennings remarking of the concert, I got in a dead fright.

I dunno if thats really the namne of the guy I am thinking of, but you know the guy who always gives the bad talks.
