Status of the show

Since we here in finland are a bit behind in every tv-series, and the net being at it's best a very confusing source of information, (This news server dropping messages at random in the alt.-hierarcy doesn't help, either) Contrary to my usual habits of finding information, I thought of resorting to asking.

MTV3 has bought and aired all the futurama episodes till "I Dated a robot" couple of years ago. AFAIK, we won't be seeing the rest of the episodes any time soon, as MTV3 owns the rights to the series, and is unwilling to sacrifice air time for it. Thank god for P2P and broadband. >;D

Some sites (mainly leela.com.ar) claimed some already drawn but never aired episodes are upcoming somewhere in two months. Just a false rumor again?

If the above is true and the episodes are aired, what happens next?

Correct me if I'm incorrect, but was I told it's true that Futurama has another season in the can? Was I informed correctly?

I also have heard that The Cartoon Network, an american cable station, has picked up the series for the production of more episodes for a 6th season.

There will be at least one more (a 5th) season of Futurama.

You heard wrong, very wrong. The actual truth is : the Futurama team had made a handfull of episodes for season 5. What Fox are calling season 5 is these episodes, and episodes from seasons 3 and 4 which were never aired due to Fox being dumbasses. Cartoon Network have bought the right to show RE-RUNS, not make new episodesm, and they dont have the capital to fincance a new season even if they wanted to.
