I can't think of a good review for this episode. I liked it, but I can't think of much to say about it. Nevertheless, A material.

Refs 'n' Suchnot:

• Newman's Own (Salad Dressing) Calculon's Own parodies this delicious salad dressing by Paul Newman.

- The PJs (Eddie Murphy's cartoon, currently on hiatus until midseason) For some reason NNYC's manholes feature the image of the Super from this show.

Vague Coincidental "Simpsons" Connections:

- "Two Cars In Every Garage And Three Eyes On Every Fish" Burns appears with bloodshot eyes when Lisa discusses his image, cf. Leela with a bloodshot eye.

• "Bart of Darkness" Bender shrieks like Ned Flanders screams when he sees the dead plant.

• "Kidney Trouble" The giant toilet.

Goofs:

- When Leela picks up Nibbler, her shirt becomes magically untorn. In fact, this is the second time Leela's clothing has miraculously changed itself--in 1ACV07, Leela's jacket went from buttoned to unbuttoned in an instant. What, are we to assume that this is some sort of (snicker, snicker) MAGIC tanktop?

You missed one of the biggest references which is to the second Planet of the Apes film (Beneath the Planet of the Apes) in which our man Heston discovers a race of mutant humans living in the bombed out future-sewers of New York City. They also workship a huge atomic bomb, as seen in last night's episode.

References don't have to be subtle, they can be obvious. Now these DYNs are the problem. They're supposed to be things in the background.
