An observation

A quick, general observation about alt.tv.futurama:

Whenever something apparently contradictory or impossible happens on Futurama, the fans don't complain, but instead think up possible explanations for what occurred. Some of them can be quite ingenious.

Some helpful quotes:
  'Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.'
     -- Arthur C. Clarke
  'A wizard did it.'
     -- Lucy Lawless, The Simpsons

The Futurama universe is full of ultra-advanced technology, so any apparent inconsistency can easily be explained away.

I think you'll find that in any science-fiction or fantasy television show, not to mention comic books or literature.
