Any MiSTie knows that Tom Servo sits to Crow's left, not his right. Also, the human viewer (Joel or Mike) is usually sitting between the robots.

When it comes to sci-fi comedy, Futurama, to me, is second next to Mystery Science Theater 3000. A cable show that aired on Comedy Central and the Sci-Fi Channel, MST3K, is about a guy (Joel or Mike, depending on the season) who is stuck in outer space. There, he and his two robot pals (Tom Servo, a robot who resembles a gumball machine, and Crow, a gold birdlike robot) are forced to watch all these bad movies. To keep their sanity, the trio make comical comments about the movie they are watching. The show has aired for ten seasons (eleven, if you include the season when it was on Minnesota television) and has spun off a feature-length movie.

Fry's comment about boxing being rigged does have a point. To some people, boxing has become as fake as professional wrestling. There are two good reasons for why this happens. The first reason is that some people pay some boxers money to take a dive (purposely lose) during the match. The other reason is because of the judging at the end of twelve-rounds of fighting, which has the more likely loser winning the match or, in the case of Holyfield/Lewis, the match ending in a draw.

I gotta believe that the folks at Futurama know their quotation marks. I'd wager their intent was not to have the Garden owners being as clumsy with punctuation as my local supermarket, but rather to have them winking at all the bettors as they enter.

Or the technique which was used a lot in The Onion's book, "Our Dumb Century", and like when CBG goes "Quote, unquote ultimate belt". Its a term of irony, since probably everyone gambles, and to say 'no gambling' seems so confusing. 'No' would be like a new concept to them so it'd have to be in quotation marks.

I think it was just a mistake. If they were trying to be funny, and if "NO" were a new concept to the gamblers, a funnier way to do it would be to have an asterisk after "No" and then a detailed explanation. Hard to do, I know, in a brief sight gag, but...

Well, that would be funny, but none the less, putting 'No' in quotation marks does the same thing.

It's kinda' like how president Clinton didn't have "sexual relations" with Monica Lewinsky.

There's a brief clip of Bender getting punched in the head, which goes black-and-white and slow-motion for a few seconds, and which also shows Bender's teeth getting knocked out in exquisite detail. This has _got_ to be a definite RAGING BULL reference (q.v. any boxing scene from the movie, showing a close-up of a boxer taking a punch in slow-motion, blood spattering, &c.)
