The Futurama Movie

Hello...

Thanks to an accident at my university's physics department involving a particle accelerator, a liquid lunch and an elastic band (it was somewhat complicated and I'd really don't want to explain), I'm now in possession of a copy of the Futurama movie.

It's a rather large binary file (about 24GB), and according to some 64-bit Unicode plaintext near the beginning, it's 'Futurama - the Movie', released under the '20th Century Fox Classics' label in early 2033. Unfortunately, the movie itself appears to be in MPEG 9a format, which has yet to be invented. It appears to be pretty heavily encrypted too, so I doubt today's computer technology will be much use at decoding it.

I'd be happy to forward a copy of it to any interested parties (preferably by backup tape and station-wagon), since it's of no use to me.

The accident had some unforseen side-effects as well; for a start, I'll almost certainly be around to see in the year 3000. And the year 3000 000. And 3000 000 000.

Time to enter the long, dark tea-time of the soul...

I think that the Futurama writers are 'saving' some references for later; after all, they could have gone wild with 2001 jokes but instead there's only been one so far (that I've spotted). I wouldn't be surprised if there was some jaw-droppingly cool nod to HHGTTG at some point in the future, like the 'Out of Order' monolith for 2001.

They probably want to keep Futurama going for more than two or three seasons, so they won't want to run out of source material...
