What is going on here? The Sunday, December 17th TV listings just came out and it looks like the big Christmas night. The new King of the Hill and Simpsons have winter/Christmas themed episodes. But Futurama is not scheduled to air this night. The whole lineup is the standard schedule, except instead of Futurama at 7:00, it's a rerun of last year's Simpsons Christmas episode. This despite the fact that 3ACV03 is titled "A Tale of Two Santas" with a distinct Christmas theme. Even if they're saving this episode for Christmas Eve, which seems odd if they're not doing it for Simpsons or King of the Hill, why are they airing Simpsons reruns in place of Futurama when there should be plenty of Futurama episodes to show now, such as 3ACV02, Parasites Lost? Why are we suffering another gap of at least 3 weeks between episodes like we seem to repeatedly these days? Let me guess, FOX will air Futurama's Christmas episode in a "special holiday timeslot" at 11 AM Christmas morning... Maybe, just maybe they have wised up and given a new timeslot for Futurama later in the week somewhere in actual prime time. The smartest thing they could do now is to permanently assign the 7 PM slot for Simpsons reruns. God knows they're still rerunning season 11 monstrosities all over the schedule anywhere they can to this day, while Futurama is repeatedly shelved.
