The Future of Futurama

A series of questions that have been bugging me for a while:

-How long do you think Futurama will last? As long as the Simpsons?

-Will Futurama develop the way the Simpsons did? We have already seen some development in the way of humor and plot, but I was thinking in more of the general feel of the episode. (Like how you look back on old Simpsons episodes and they seem weird)

-Can we expect any episodes that aren't held together with spit and gum? The possibilities of Futurama are endless, and the writers need to realize that serious plot doesn't mean u can't have funny jokes...

-Have there been any recent chats or quotes from people "inside" Futurama that relate to these questions?

The show will run pretty much as is, and be treated as a red headed stepchild by the network, until there are enough episodes for syndication, and then it will be cancelled. Once in syndication, people will belatedly discover it and spout predictable cliques like, "Man, that was a good show! Too bad nobody appreciated it and the network treated it like crap during its original run!"

Sure it will. In three or four years old episodes won't seem as edgy. But I don't think it will be as drastic as The Simpsons was since they had experience from The Simpsons to work off of to develop Futurama.

"Luck Of the Fryrish", "I, Roommate", "The Day The Earth Stood Stupid", "I Dated A Robot" to name a fiew. All good episodes with good plot's. What the hell do you want? Animated Babylon 5 or what?

No because there's no more big web sites to host chats or make interviews. And Animator1 doesn't count. He's simply a friend of a kid who's parent works for the show so he's just a viewer from the mild future.

Okay, I was in a rush to get this out, but there are a few episodes with pretty good plots. Now all they need to work on is consistency.. ;-)
