I was really impressed by it. I was looking forward to seeing it after seeing a few of the commercials, and I lad I took the time to watch it.

Like most Simpson's episodes from the last few seasons, I found Futurama to be great in the first half, but boring and almost painful to watch in the second half. IMHO, of course...

I think this series will only get immeasurably better after the first, say, 6 to 12 episodes. They have to break themselves in and find a real groove. That said, upon rewatching the first episode of Futurama, I loved it without any rationalization. They through plenty of edgy or even dark stuff in (like the suicide hut... try getting that across on a live-action show); I even laughed at the dropping of the brick, though I'd seen it a few times on the commercials.
All in all, I am willing to bet that this will be my favorite show of the year, if not the next few years. Groening has not disappointed.
