The first episode

Remember in the first episode when Fry got frozen and New York was destroyed and then it got rebuilt and the city looked like castles? Could it be that there could've been another medeval era?

could be, but you can't say for sure...

in the 19th century (or something like that) everyone thought Classical-Greek/Roman building looked really cool so there was a revival of that architecture if i'm correct. and there was also a period in France that everyting had to look egyptian (furniture and stuff) to be cool. maybe there was some kind of medieval architectural revival or something...

but there was also a nuclear war, and an alien invasion in that 1st episode... maybe everything got extinct, and earth somehow rebuilt itself in exactly the same way it really did... except for the fact that castles and stuff like that are medieval-european and not north-american. 1492 is widely accepted as the 'end' of the Medieval period, and the start of Modern Times with the great explorations, and (shamefully) colonization.

sorry if I made some historical mistakes, but I think the most of it is quite correct...
