or even better - class-action lawsuit. The viewers have been promised Futurama as a series, and FOX has done nothing but screw us and Matt over since day one. And it would give some interesting publicity, while giving FOX a whole bunch of negative publicity they don't want!
Only problem: we'd need an army of lawyers even bigger and less humourous than FOX's :(
Not in the states. Chalk it up to "mental anguish and turmoil". Case in point: a family is wrongfully accused of shoplifting at Disneyland and after they are taken to the office areas, their youngest daughter sees a costumed character carrying his head under his arm. The subsequent $5,000,000 lawsuit included some kind of mental anguish thing suffered by the child. I guess whenever I need a quick buck in the future, I can sue my mom for lying to me about Santa Claus.
In my case, the loss of Futurama could very well have cost the price of a television set when large objects were hurled at it. "Anger, depression, and the cost of a used Zenith. And while I'm at it, how about court fees and the cost of this suit and the gas it took to drive here?" If I got an idiot or a senile old man for a judge, I may win. Where was I? Oh yeah, stay outta my booze!

Of course, it helps if you just make things up. See http://www.snopes.com/disney/wdco/headless.htm . One case was settled, but the "headless" complaint was part of a laundry list of mistreatment they received after being accused of shoplifting. The false arrest and imprisonment was the main deal.
Another one was part of a suit that claimed Disney didn't provide adequate security, resulting in the family being robbed. Again, the headless complaint was part of a long list of indignities. They lost.

heh. As a tangent, a friend of mine (and avid Futurama viewer so YES IT'S ON-TOPIC) who works at Disney World was explaining the vast underground are underneath the park. And how at one point, the costumes are hung up so that it looks like someone spiked Goofy on a meathook.
On another tangent, my g/f who just finished up 6 months working at Disney World, informed me that Alladin and Prince Charming are "a couple". And that Mickey, more often than not, is a girl.
Yes, but did they win the case? Did they win the appeal? Did they win the next appeal? Did they win the appeal after that? Did they ever see a dime of that $5,000,000? Stuff like that makes the paper because it is so nutty. But stuff like that rarely stands up. The corporate lawyers have a lot more money and patience.

As I pointed out in another message, it didn't exactly. One case was settled, but it was mainly about a false accusation of shoplifting and they got $ for false arrest. The headless characters was just one element on a long list of complaints about mistreatment.
Another case was by a family that was robbed while in the parking lot. They sued Disney, saying the security was inadequate and that they were mistreated after reporting it. Again, the headless characters complaint was part of a long list of indignities. They lost.
You'd be amazed how many people get mad over how "late" the parade is when in reality they're waiting at the very end of the parade route, meaning it takes almost 20 minutes for it to get to them :)

Like the McDonalds coffee burn case. The coffee pot was broken and making coffee close to boiling. The Manager had several complaints but continued to use it while waiting for parts. The woman required surgery to repair the damage and McDonalds refused to pay her medical expenses. They offered a few hundred dollars which would have covered only a portion of her bills. Then she sued.

You're mistaken about the "broken" coffee pot, and you left out the fact that she wasn't driving. Not to mention that the car wasn't even moving at the time.

This is all well and good, but unless the Neilsen numbers are there, Fox could not really give a rat's ass. I mean if they get 10 million E-mails, but only 1 million people are watching the show, what does that tell them?
