Ok she has been in the past one of my favorite characters, but the way she treated Fry at the end... he was smart (or the worms were...) to 'dumb' himself down to find out how she really felt about him, as himself. And I had always looked on her as being sensitive and kind...rather out of character if you ask me.

Plus the ancient Greeks said that incongruity is the basis of humor. That non sequitor was incongruous.
Well, Fry did destroy the mood with the Frankenstein bit, talking about Amy, and other dumb jerkiness.

But in all fairness, he was being unusually immature, even for Fry. And who knows, maybe it was just the attitude readjustment he'd been needing all along.

Which was kind of my point. My guess would be Leela's reaction told him what she *didn't* like about him, as opposed to the question of whether she liked him or the worms. It then became a matter of self-improvement. Instead of worm improvement.

Leela took an instant disliking to Amy when she found out she was from the Mars Wong and there has been tension between them ever since.

Leela's not perfect. Remember how she rejected the dude with the lizard tongue? This character flaw of hypocracy is a good thing, IMO. Leela's already sort of the goody two-shoes of the bunch, and they need to avoid having her become the boring cariacture of moralizing perfection that Lisa Simpson has become.
Please, no one be offended, but this is a woman we're talking about, right? And everyone is having a hard time understanding how she can switch personalities/likes/needs at the drop of a hat?

That being said, it didn't surprise me at all. I've seen my share of dramatic mood swings, which apparently I should have known exactly what they meant and if I didn't know, I didn't deserve to have them explained.
