Actually if you look at it. I think the car like most of the ships seems to have some sort of atmosphere containment system. They never did walk around on Mercury or Europa. And the Tow Guy was wearing a space suit when he walked from his truck to the car.

Which makes it slightly ludicrous that they would need to roll the top up...
