I'm going to have to go with 4x15, the one with the universes in boxes. Now that was one crazy (and mind-provoking) episode. Plus, seeing two Benders made it twice as much fun :-)

Three Hundred Big Boys is my favorite. But I also really like The Sting, Godfellas, Parasites Lost, Anthology of Interest I, I Dated A Robot, and the entire first production season.
Well, and also the other seasons.
Well, there's the one with the entire cast of Star Trek that was HILARIOUS... but I havent seen it since it first aired... gotta get that season next.
I just watched Roswell That Ends Well, and its really good! Sooo... either of those.

=v= The RFC standard is "-- \n", which many applications parse as meaning "this is a .sig". So your idea of "adequately" is not shared by many programs. Someday the warlordbots are going to come after you, except they can't parse that long line as a border for a .sig. Clever strategy.

What I like about Futurama above other comedy shows like Family Guy is that it isn't just a comedy ... nothing in Family Guy is serious, but in Futurama, there are characters you feel empathy for and it really makes you feel emotions. Watching Fry trying to win Leela's heart, only to get his words of love destroyed in a chronoton implosion ... now that's good television.
Did I mention that I don't like Family Guy that much?

The episode in which Fry uses "the stars to write, 'I love you'" is also much more than comical. In fact the ultimate irony is not just funny but also touching. It's so much better than if it had real characters, that I often wonder if we really need actors, except for their voices? This is a very amazing series - like most great books, they transcend the writers, and the characters literally start writing themselves. Rex Stout and Agatha Christie both noted that and Stout often referred critics to Archie or Nero for explanations to apparent paradoxes or faux pas. Futurama has that same quality. Of course it takes genius to get something like this started - but then, off it goes on its own, with the writers doing their best to keep up :)

I agree, Futurama has some _very_ excellent episodes. It's more than just a comedy series - it's very genuine. You usually see Bender's brash side, but every so often, you see his intimate side, like when Professor gets a new robot (it had 1X in the name or something). I also liked the episode where Fry gets the intestinal worms and Leela falls for the worms, not him. I really liked the episode where they all did the naked conga. It happened in that episode with the Harlem Globetrotters.
By the way, does anybody know what kind of bonus footage is included in Season 3 DVD? There is suppose to be some deleted scenes included in it. I don't know if that footage just wasn't good enough to make the cut, or if it just was too racy for cable television.

My personal favorite episodes (mostly from memory since I'm only through watching the first 5 episodes of Season 3 on DVD and thanks to stupid Fox's intermittent airings of Futurama its last two seasons I missed about 5-6 episodes so it's not quite complete) are:
1) Godfellas- This was just a brilliant episode, maybe the best episode of any TV series I have ever seen, it totally blew me away. 2) Jurassic Bark- I think I might've cried at the end of this one. 3) Luck of the Fryrish- Every time I see I come >< this close to crying at the end. 4) Roswell that Ends Well 5) The Devil's Hands are Idle Play Things- I'm pissed that Futurama was cancelled but this is in my opinion the best series finale of all time
