Does Fry have Homeritis?

I know that it's been an ongoing joke in Futurama that Fry is, shall we say...not to intelligent. However, in Mars University it was taken to such an extreme that he came across as almost retarded. Did anyone else notice this? It seems kind of like how Homer has just gotten increasingly stupid over the course of the show. I'm not complaining, I thought it was pretty damn funny, just wondering if anyone else got the same impression.

yeah, but that cryogenics thing is foolproof... if you're going to look for sense, don't look in a cartoon...especially a sci-fi cartoon...or anything on fox...

I don't think Fry's THAT stupid. He does seem to have a sort of a conscience sometimes when it comes to the people he cares about. It happened in "I, Roommate" (IACV04) and "A Flight to Remember" (IACV10). In "I, Roommate", he does witness Bender cutting off his antenna and then changes his mind about staying with the robot. There, Fry has an attack of sympathy. And in "A Flight to Remember", he does promise not to tell Bender's secret about his affections for the Robot Countess". So, Fry does go a little beyond the mundane and banal things he usually does throughout the program to give a sense of support.

Homer displays a "conscience" about what he does too. When he does succeed on the show, he takes subversive means to get what he wants to make things right.

Whether Homer and Fry reflect each other? Well...that's a matter of interpretation. They are on two completely different shows.
