I have liked all previous ep's very much, but I have to say that I didn't think this one was up to much atall. What do, or did, other people think?

Didn't care about it, neither.

Good thinking I was watching the World Series, instead.

I loved it - especially when Fry found his 93 cents had turned into $4.3Bn! :)

Actually 93 cents at 2.5% interest for 1000 years comes to approximately 49.25Bn!

Thanks for saving me the calculation -- I've been meaning to check that.

... wow... I was wondering that myself, and was relatively certain that they would have done the math to make sure it was right.

Now I'm all disappointed...

I *knew* they'd get it right... I feel so much better now.

Thanks much...

That'll teach me to not check the tape! :)

Except that bank fees would have eaten up the 93 cents before any interest had accrued (minimum balance of $100 or $2.00 fee assessed).

Has anyone ever bothered to doublecheck the math? I don't recall the specifics, but they did mention the starting amount, the interest rate, and the fact that it's accumulated for 1,000 years.

The topic has already been debated ages ago, when the episode first aired. See the episode capsule at <http://futurama.simplenet.com/capsules/1ACV06.txt>. (It's in the "Extended Goofs / Technical Nitpicks" section.)

I checked it when i first saw the episode, and yes, it does check out. Unfortunately it's been a rather ghastly morning and i can't remember what the hell formula i used to calculate it.

I liked "The anchovie went extinct in 2213 (or whenever it was) right when your species came around, right?" "I'm not on trial here!" "I'm just saying...." "We didnt do anything!" "but..." "Okok, alright, we ate them all. We kept saying 'Only one more' but then they were gone!"
