New Futurama calendar

Okay, so I've seen the 2004 Futurama calendar. It's full of great gag cartoons and the usual birthday notices. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what is the THEME of this year's calendar. I can't spot any common thread through all the pictures. What am I overlooking?

I heard when the cover was first shown online that the theme of the calendar was famous works of art. The cover is a parody os one of Escher's (sp?) works, or a man holding a glass ball and 2 others looking into it.

I didn't do the cover but I did write the rest of them inside. The idea this year for both this and the Simpsons calendar were just straight out gags. As it turns out some of the calendar images are going to be made into Futurama comic stories in the future as well.
