Futurama DVD

I was just wondering how come the region 1 version of futurama 1. season is released som much later that region 2? Doesn't make sense! :)

Why do you think they invented regions? So they could pull stuff like this.

Its a nice balance really, syndication money means we get the jump on the TV shows whilst America gets most of the movies first no?

So Futurama could go into syndication. It's not a coincidence that the DVD release follows the Cartoon Network picking up syndication rights. Thus, Futurama could generate the maximum advertising revenue when it started airing. (If the DVDs were already available, the Cartoon Network would get less viewers and less ad money, in theory.)

Quite possibly because they rush the DVDs such as Futurama and Family Guy into production in the UK, and they don't get any of the goodies like Easter Eggs, Commentary, and Deleted Scenes. It pays off to be patient once in a while :)

Uhhh... no.

The European DVD set actually has one goody more than the US one (the trailer). They are most likely released early in Europe because there is no network/cable split-up of utilization rights.

Someone said "Syndication" below, and they're right. I'm just glad it's available at all.

I just hope sales are good so we won't have to wait as long for seasons 2-4.
