On Comedy Central's "Battlebots" (and what the hell is THAT show doing on THAT particular channel?) there has already been a robot contestant named Bender. Unfortunately, the Battlebots robot had none of the "real" Bender's sense of larceny, sarcasm, or style--it just scooted ineffectually around the arena, not smoking or drinking or grifting, and was quickly e-liminated!
I wanted the ref to shout "In this corner: the GEN-DER . . . BEN-DER!!!"
At any rate, the Bender robot was pending for a bending and got chopped up by the buzzsaws. . . .
