Futurama binaries newsgroup

I am looking into creating alt.binaries.multimedia.tv-futurama newsgroup. I would like to know how many people would be interested in accessing such a group. I need numbers for my proposal request.

I have been reading your proposal at alt.config. I also have been reading this newsgroup for over a year and what you need to do is go through Deja and count how many times at alt.tv.futurama there have been requests for binary files of sounds and episodes for the last year. Believe me, there have been well over a few hundred. Make sure to do a complete search with proper keywords. And let me clue you in, the entire alt.config process is purely discussion, all you need to do to newgroup it is to send a control message. That's easy, the hard work is to propagate it and get other servers to pick it up. In my sig is a URL that will tell you all you need to know: http://www.bigfoot.com/~hamishmcsnetter I went through all of this with the Snuh groups, save yourself time and trouble and just newgroup it yourself.

As mentioned elsewhere, Dejanews (www.deja.com) is the best way to get numerical justification for a new group.

Also, once you're are ready with a formal proposal, cross post it to alt.config and this group.

All in all I don't think there is a need for a new group. At least, not yet. Since there are only two seasons so far, If one episode is posted per day, the whole series would get posted in about a month.

For now, they can be posted in a more general group, or perhaps we could use alt.binaries.multimedia.the-bundys. The group is very low traffic, all I've ever seen there is occasional faked pics of Kelly nude.

In a general group like alt.binaries.multimedia, the posts would also help to expose the show to more people, if it's a Futurama binaries group, then only fans would even see it.

Actually people, including myself, have started posting in alt.binaries.tv.simpsons and several people have suggested posting elsewhere. I think alt.binaries.multimedia or abm.cartoons would be a good place, but some people in the abts group said they dont get abmc on their server, and abm is already so heavily used that I find I miss parts of many of the posts I am interested in.

ATT sure does, you have to refresh the groups now and again but they both are there.
