I could have sworn that the "human alert" sounds were taken from the classic coin-op video games "Berzerk" and/or "Gorf."
Plus the Mac Plus judge was a nice touch.

I was laughing hysterically when the judge crashed. "Try pressing control-alt-delete!"

Fenzy was also a charecter in the Trnasformers animated series(He was a Decepticon), as for the Game Frenzy: Never played it. But I did play the Atari 2600 ver of "Berzerk"
How about, "Try cleaning out the gew in the mouse"?

Bezerk, I think. (never played Gorf, but I understand it's pretty similar) "Stop the humanoid!" "Kill the humanoid!" "The humanoid must not escape!" "Intruder alert!" "Kill the intruder!" "I detect quarters!"
The internet comic would've felt right at home....

Yep, they came from Berzerk (coin-op). Gorf is totally unlike Berzerk.
Does anyone have any sound clips of this or anything else from the episode?

Yes, Josh!!! I would love to have it. If it's not too large, can you e-mail me it?
Thanks very much! -Nitesbane

OK... If I remember correctly, it's only 300K or so. Check later tonight, it's on my machine at home so I'll mail it later.

Wasn't Gorf the one that said "Bad move, space cadet"?
The novelty in 1982 or so was a game that actually talked.

Definitely Berzerk.... plus I loved the Tetris gag. the "Multiball" bit in Blermsball had me laughing up a storm.
plus the arcade from "The Series has Landed" which featured the arcade games:
Dodecapede (Centipede) Mortal Cooperation (Mortal Kombat) and Gender-Neutral Pac-Person (Pac-Man)
whoever's writing Futurama certainly spent as much time in the 80's arcades as I did.

YEAH!! PAC-MAN! TRON! TETRIS! KLAX! etc- etc- etc....

I *loved* the Berzerk and Tetris references, I had to rewind and watch those parts a couple of times. :-)
BTW, since some of you are waxing poetic over these games from the 80's, I just want to let you know that you can play all these games on your PC or Mac now using emulators and the original ROM files. The most exhaustive one right now being MAME, and another good one being Retrocade.

The web page used to be: http://www.davesclassics.com/ but I have not been there recently. MAME stands for: Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. There are many other emulators available, including Nintendo, PlayStation, Atari computers, etc.

True, but you have to admit that the experience of playing these games on your home computer just doesn't cut it. Aside from the random glitches inherent in emulation, and the fact that you usually don't have the right controls (2 joysticks for Robotron... plus a keyboard can't replace the simplicity of a couple of prominent buttons), the experience is still all wrong. Standing up at a large arcade machine, with goons hanging around watching you play, the noise of the other machines, the particular importance of *this* game because it's your *last* quarter, the controls that smell like an ashtray... all of that went into the real video arcade experience. It's gone forever.
While we're waxing nostaglic, let me just say: Robotron 2084, Phoenix, Vangaurd, Crazy Climber, Frogger, Gravitar, Moon Patrol, Wizard of Wor!!
TRON was a kick-ass game. They also made a TRON 2 game you had to throw discs at a red man throwing them at you & you were on pedestals ROBOT wrote in message ...
