Number 1) "I wonder how can we distinguish spores of Aspergillus from those of Penicillium by samples of a spore trap? (I supposed these spores should have been mounted on tape or something, without conidiophores?)"

Number 2) "What would the impact on Earth's environment be from having a Venus-sized companion? Is there much chance of tidally locked rotations?"

I went to the George Observatory last night, and the slide-show presentation was about Venus. Venus is only slightly smaller than Earth (less than 1000 km diameter), and in their separate orbits, they are gravitationally locked into a repeating 8-year (Earth time) pattern. At 23 million miles part, they affect each other's orbits due to gravity. Of course, this has taken place over billions of years, but the net effect is quite astonishing, when you analyze the numbers. So, any closer together, and they would have even more effect on each other.
