Upcoming Episodes (the last for a while) plus notes on Xmas Story

Saturday, 12/25 (9:00) - Repeat of "Xmas Story"

Note this is the last episode before sometime in February - Fox is showing "Family Guy" on 12/26, a second episode of "The Simpsons" on 1/2, and then premiering "Malcolm in the Middle" (which, by the way, has nothing to do with "Malcolm & Eddie") on 1/9. When "Futurama" returns, it will be moved to 7:00 (although I for one don't think it will stay there for too long - certainly not when football season starts again in September)

A few notes on "Xmas Story"...

The Y2K problem was fixed "900 years ago" - which means it took 100 years before it was completely fixed.

You couldn't see anybody's ski poles when they were on the ski lift - since they were so short, were they worn inside their suits or something?

In 1994, the Jamacian four-man bobsled team did better than not one but BOTH of the USA bobsleds (although one of the USA sleds was disqualified - and if I remember correctly, there was an argument over who would be riding in the other one).

The clock at the end of the episode (before the closing credits) was about two minutes fast (it said 8:57 when it was really about 8:55); in the closing credits, it still read 8:57, and it was about a half-minute slow at that point.

Who sent Fry an Xmas card? (If it's from some company, why wouldn't Leela get one as well?)

Leela's race must be quite strong - had a human tried to catch Fry falling like that, either their arms would have been ripped off or they would have pulled out of the building.

And the Apple version put it to shame. All I really remember is that the opening song was superior to any I'd heard before and that the casinos got remarkably harder when you gained levels.

As long as we're off topic, try Escape Velocity for the Mac. You can pick up passengers in your ship, carry them around for years, finally drop them off at home several dozen months late, and still get paid. Or you can jettison them into deep space and nobody notices. Whee.
