The People's Choice Awards just gave Best New Comedy to Stark Raving Mad. Much as I love Futurama, I have to say its future does not look too good based on this. :-( Let's cross our fingers...

Never saw stark raving mad. Hmm, maybe thats cuz I don't watch gay ass sitcoms. There is no finger crossing to be needed with Futurama. It is such an amazingly well animated show, you just have to sit back and marvel at it. The writing is insanity. When you look at high budget special effects movies and wonder wheere the writers are, they're working for Futurama. There is no uncertainty, but maybe thats just coming from a fanatic, who knows. I've never been a fanatic about anything, but maybe I am one of Futurama... It just scares me that I think it may be my favorite tv show of all time, and just not recent history.

It's actually a navy blue rather than purple, and Bender looks much better than in the photo. It's got the Futurama and Fox logos embroidered on the back too. :-)

Plus I got one of them Futurama beach towels (one is up for auction right now), and a Futurama travel mug. I must've spent well over $130 Cdn for all this stuff, but I don't regret it one bit. Now if only I could find one of those elusive Futurama Y2Kalendars! Nobody stocks them up here! >:-(

Books-a-Million would have one. Barnes and Nobles or Borders would probably have one too. Tower, Virgin or some other big record store would _definitely_ have one. But not Blockbuster or Warehouse. They only stock bikini calenders.

Haha, I scored one of those. Hanging out with a now semi-ex gf down in North Carolina a week ago, she bought me one. Of course I'll never get the arcane merchandizing like you explained.

Am I the only one who saw the original Stark Raving Mad promos and thought it was an SNL skit? It seemed so forced and so generically bad... oh well the people who voted for it must have taking their kids to see Inspector Gadget instead of Iron Giant.

It doesn't mean a damn thing. Stark Raving Mad would've gotten my vote if Futurama was not on the list. It is impossible for every single popular show to have won a People's Choice Award in it's first season anyway. I'm not worried, and you shouldn't be either. At least "Shasta McNasty" didn't win. ; )
