I disagree - it is a big deal. It changes the finished art. When I saw that, I could tell something wasn't quite right, but I wasn't sure what should have been there in its place.
It had a negative impact on my enjoyment of the show.
Do they treat all religions similarly? Could CN ever even consider showing The Simpsons? Would Homer be bleeped for saying Jebus? What about all the other religious references?
I'm sure there must be more religious references in Futurama, but alas, I'm not quite as familiar with them.

Right, but that was just a casual mention of "Christ". "Sweet Zombie Jesus" to Christians is "taking the Lord's name in vein"...
Either way, I think they're silly for editing. Just put the show on in it's entirety and let the viewer decide whether or not they want to watch. I don't need Cartoon Network to protect me from myself...

It's not "sweet zombie jesus" since that's from a different episode. It is ____ zombie jesus. i think this one might be holy...
But anyway, i'd suggest people keep the feedback positive, ie no ranting. for some reason calm and reasonable people come off more persuasive than ranting zealots.

Futurama had its moments, it was flat out hysterical at times, but it was often a lot coarser and more vulgar than "The Simpsons, " just not as well written. That, and Matt Groenings's antagonistic attitude toward Fox going in, are the reasons it's out of production now. As for censorship, Turner is reportedly paying $10 million for rerun rights. For that money he can run it backwards if he wants.

I, for one, happen to think that it was not over the top at all and the writing was great. Of course, this is merely my opinion.
Also, to compare Futurama to the Simpsons with respect to anything other than the actual animation would be the same as comparing NYPD Blue to Battlestar Galactica. They're completely different shows.
