Gee, does anyone from ATS that posts here remember a thread froma little less than a year ago entitled "I Hate The Fucking New York Yankees"? If you do, I was the author of that post, and now I feel the need to reinforce this statement. Why? Because Baseball, NO, Make that the New York Yankees in general, are ruining my happy little cartoon universe. I hate any televised sports on broadcast channels that interfere with regularly scheduled programming. And the fact that TV Guide made no point to notify me (I live in NY) of the fact that Futurama would be shown in the 11:00 PM EST slot really pissed me off, Because at the moment, I'm currently taping the Monty Python Biography on A+E, which I could have done tomorrow if this scheduling change had been brought to my attention sooner. I hope the Yankees plane crashes in a cornfield on the way back from Seattle tonight, and saves us all the aggravation of missing our favorite shows. If Futurama had never been moved to the 7:00 PM EST slot, many of us would still be happy.

You have *GOT* to be kidding me!!!!!! I live in NY too, and I didn't even know that Futurama DID indeed air at 11:00PM until this very moment! (Monday April 14, 2000) Holy F*ck!! I am reeeeeeally angry at FOX right now....

If your TV Guide was missing the listing, I can understand why you'd be upset. I live in central New Jersey. We don't have any network affiliates, so we receive the New York City and Philadelphia stations. My TV Guide listed "Futurama" on WNYW (Channel 5) at 11:00.

That's a terrible thing to say. You should have more respect for human life. Even overrated, over-glorified, overpaid people are still people.

I hold some resentment for the New York Yankees, as well. My father is a huge fan, and they're all that I ever heard about growing up. I also dislike sports in general. I still don't wish professional athletes any harm. Even in jest, this is unflattering, mean-spirited behavior.

Unfortunately, the networks can't please everyone. We're lucky that they haven't canceled "Futurama". This is likely to be the case with "Family Guy", and it could just as easily be argued that "Futurama" stole ITS time slot.

The scheduling issue is not a valid reason to dislike "Malcolm In the Middle". I happen to love both shows. Even if you don't enjoy the content of "Malcolm In the Middle", it has just as much right to the slot as any series. Its 8:30 performance is stronger than that of "Futurama", by leaps and bounds. It has scored record high ratings in the period, and has delivered Fox's best demographics since 1994. The last series in this slot to approach this level of performance was "King of the Hill". If any series has been given the short end of the stick, (in terms of scheduling) it's "King of the Hill".

No offense, but I found "Shasta" to be one of the worst series that I've ever seen. "Dilbert" showed potential, but I found it to be boring and repetitive. To each their own.
