Saw the episode for the first time tonight, and found that horribly sad ending quite upsetting (ya, ya, I know it's just a cartoon). Does anyone know if they may pick up that plot point in an upcomming show?

That episode will sort of be revisited in the episode in which Nibbler makes Fry revisit his past.
