Odd observations-Ep#5 (fear of a bot planet)

1:Does Leela ever take off her forarm communicator?! (on her right wrist/lower arm) Can it be removed at all? Is it an implant? I don't think I've even seen her use it yet...what can it do? Does she wear it when showering?! :#)

2:A DYN no one has mentioned: The repair robot in the city (the one that caught Fry/Leela) was in need of repair himself-he was smoking quite badly...This means 2 things...a repair robot cannot repair himself, and there are many repair robots running around...(or not?-if he was the only one, that might explain his condition...) Aw shoot, after reviewing the tape, it's dust on the ground... It should have been smoke (a repair robot needing to fix himself would have been thought-provoking)

3:Was I the only one to think that the clock in the robot city should have shown the time in binary code?! One big 32 bit number representing the time.... 10110110111011011011101100000101!!!! One day would be all 0's to all 1's

4:During the baseball sequence-the bird in the communicator sequence should have been an owl!! More owls should have been seen grubbing around on the field...one of the two hit balls should have stuck an owl out of the air as it was flying by...after the hit Leela could have marked her score card. The card could have even had an "owl" symbol on it to keep track of the "hits" :*)

Why am I ranting about owls?

5:The slurm sign in the baseball sequence: It says underneath the main sign thusly- "Unaturally Delicious" This sounds weird-what exactly is slurm anyway?? Some really over-processed, chemical laden drink I suppose...well there's nothing like that NOW is there :*) (I have a zero overscan T.V.-you can see it too if you turn the vert height down)

5: On the robot planet: many robots have record players?! Not only did bender release his music "Bender lets loose" only on record, but it went "gold" before the end of the episode! (It's nice to see record players are still around in 3000!)

6:In the sequence with the mayor robot (behind the podium) the mircophone is missing! The "goose neck" holder is there, but it just ends...(come to think of it, why would robots need a P.A. system?!)

7:Robots use money.

8:Is it me, or was the whole movie theater sequence there just to set-up Leela's line: "Mine's not working" While trying to use the 3-D glasses. This was the funniest line for me in that sequence!

Slurm is like Duff on the Simpsons, it's a ficticious soft drink that will play an important role on the show (The season 1 finale is gonna end with a visit to the Slurm factory).

Hey, like some don't like to convert (like Calculon) to better systems so why should the robots?

Small microphone, duh! Like the ones cops use in sting operations. Robots are simple minded, don't mind them.

Nobody's perfect

This scene basically shows us how we made movies back in the silver screen years. Corny movie with bad rubber costumes that didn't hide the actor well. Plus the high tech method they had to use at the end to kill the monster (i.e. the stick as opposed to sub-atomic nuclear harnessed in a ray gun that fits in the palm of your hand). Personally I liked the 'God help us' line that Fry yells out.
