Zoidberg!

What can I say? Maybe it's the sandals... maybe it's the pincers... maybe it's that voice, so suavely ethnic for an alien...

I think Dr. Zoidberg is the coolest character on the show. Will anyone second my opinion?

Where can I find those sandals?

Zoidberg sounds like Jackie Mason! Think he's supposed to be Jewish? (If so, must be Reform. Shellfish isn't kosher.)

I've been thinking about that voice. Jackie Mason came to mind as a possible influence, but I think there's more of a Georgie Jessel quality to it. Actually, I think Billy West got it from one of the older Hanna-Barbera voice actors who was borrowing from Jessel, and he adapted it one generation further.

Shellfish isn't kosher? I'm not surprised.

Zoidberg sounds quite a bit like Wally Walrus in the new Woody Woodpecker series, who is also voiced by Billy West.

Human meat isn't Kosher either. However, the fact that he eats a hot dog and requests "Something crawling with parasites" would still support the reform theory.

He is a doctor, his name ends with 'berg' and with his accent he's got three Jewish stereotypes working for him. My guess is his real name is in that trumpet sounding language from episode two ("What, My mother was a saint" (make that four Jewish stereotypes)) and he choose Zoidberg as his "human" name. For some reason, all aliens have names that start with Z plus he wanted a name that sounded like a doctor so he wanted 'berg' at the end.

Besides, she's racially alien but culturally human. And yes it really bothers her when people make fun of her eye.

She is apparently bothered by Amy kissing Fry, and a host of other things. The chick is highly neurotic, when you get right down to it.

My opinion of Leela is: no prob with the purple hair, (anime fantasies and so forth), nice rack, but the one big eye puts me right off it. And if you married her, she'd sit around on the couch, eating bon-bons and whining "A-AL!!!" all day. . . .

BardDeaconalt.tv.futurama

Are you stupid? How many chicks out there do you know with a body like hers AND karate skills equivalent to those of a 2nd degree black belt? She's a catch, no question about it.

Wrong show, man! I cant imagine Leela whining about much of anything. And, with the exception of depth perception [which COULD cause problems in the bedroom], I dont think the "one eye" thing would be bad. Remember, the EYE is the window to the soul, so gazing into Leela's would be like watching big screen TV.

And besides that, Peggy Bundy is just a fictional character!
