The newest issue of Cinescape (#58 -try to buy the issue with collector cover #2, which has bender on the front) is running an interview with Matt Groening and an article about the show. Both are interesting to read, especially the Futurama article titled "Around the Bender: Wy Futurama is the funniest show on television you haven't seen." Some excerpts:
The Futurama offices have a washer/dryer where the staff does their laundry.
The writing room has one wall that is plastered with papers containing unused ideas & jokes. example--"Whose killing the great chefs of Europa?" Another wall has a US President diorama.
The writers are so educated that Matt Groening jokes it's time to leave the writing room everytime the word "theorem" comes up.
The final episode of season 4 was written in a fashion such that if the show wasn't picked up for season 5, the series could end on a "touching note."
Based on these two articles, the magazine is well worth the US $6 (ouch!) cover price.
