we want more Futurama!

So what are the chances of Fututama coming back on with new episodes? I figure if Family Guy can come back (twice now) from cancellation, then there is a good chance Futurama could too. DVD sales are good, and the sydnication ratings are good. Plus, IMHO Futurama is was one of the best animated series of all time. Any thoughts?

"Good" and "good enough to warrant making new episodes" are two different things. Only Family Guy has DVD sales that fit the second category.

You won't get much argument about that here. Unfortunately for us, Fox realizes that "here" does not not enough people to warrant making new episodes. Considering that Futurama, which ran for five years (but don't go looking for the "season 5 DVD" as the DVD sets are based on the four production seasons, not the five broadcast seasons), usually got ratings that were the same as Fox shows that were cancelled after two weeks, I think we had a good enough run as it is.

Besides, there's always the comic books...

I realize that we're a very small demographic. But, the reason I have all 4 sets of Futurama DVDs is because it's one of the few comedy/entertainment shows that is aimed squarely at geeky people like myself.

I agree with all of this. Except, the comic books are dreadfull. They really are.

The Futurama comics are hit or miss for me, but I must admit that issue #1 of the Futurama/Simpsons Crossover Crisis Series 2 was laugh out loud funny. Really.

Not unless Matt Greoning and FOX stop feuding.
