Fry / Teg Parallel?

In "Three Hundred Big Boys" when Fry drank the hundredth cup of coffee and suddenly started moving at blazing speed (pun only minimally intended), was anyone else reminded of Miles Teg's "whirlwind" speed scenes from Frank Herbert's "Heretics of Dune"?

I guess it could also be reminiscent of the Scalosians from Star Trek's "Wink of an Eye" episode, but not as much as "Heretics."

I suppose this is easily dismissed as just a coincidence, but Teg's killing of all his captors in the blink of an eye after being subjected to the "T-probe" was such a cool part of that book that I wondered if it also stuck in the minds of this episode's writers.

Was I the only one who saw/imagined this parallel?

I haven't managed to push myself that far into the Dune series, so Fry's superspeed scene mostly reminded me of the Flash comic. They've done some neat things with showing what it might be like from the Flash's POV -- everything just about frozen.

It's probably because we had Matrix part duex out so recently, but that's what I was thinking. I like the Star Trek thought better, but I'd have expected the buzzing sound from the POV of the rest. Oh well, I suppose there just wasn't a point to that, it worked anyhow.
