=v= Last night's _Futurama_ had some great dialogue.
Leela: "It can't be environmentalism if it's fun." Eco-Dude: "What about blowing up dams?" Leela: "Well ... okay, *that's* fun!"

Hayduke Lives,
<_Jym_>The episode made more fun of the Duck Unlimited conservation group than the granola eaters. Ducks Unlimited helps preserve marshland habitat for ducks and geese so hunters (them) can contanminate it with beer bottles, cigarette butts, and lead shot.

Haven't they banned lead shot and gone with steel shot because the lead was harming the ducks? (Steel just rusts away, and besides it's good for plants and animals because it contains iron, a necessary nutrient.)
isn't the purpose of any kind of shot (in terms of duck hunting) to harm the ducks?
ROFL. Yeah, you got me there. Okay, what I meant was that the lead shot would give the ducks lead poisoning when they ate it, and the ducks would get sick and die before the hunters had a chance to blast them out of the sky. Sort of the same principle as assigning a suicide watch to a death row inmate. Nothing dies until we say it is time to die.
