You know, it's got to happen SOMEtime... time travel...

I was reading the timeline that was posted recently and it crossed my mind... time travel. How would the writers deal with it.... I mean, this IS a sci-fi show (as much as it chagrin's me to admit that, is it...) and as with all sci-fi shows, there is a prerequisite for a time travel episode or two... Perhaps it would be something like this:

Leela: Dammit! We missed the window to land. Now our delivery won't get there on time and the whole Zifarian race will die because they couldn't get this shipment. It's just water, for Pete's sake, and now countless millions will suffer horrible deaths without their antidote of H20.

Fry: This is terrible! Is there anything we can do?

Bender: Maybe if we enter their atmosphere, we can open a window and urinate or spit on some of them. That'd help wouldn't it?

Fry: Heheh. Finally a comeback to the phrase "It's better to be pissed off than pissed on."

Leela: Nice idea, Bender, if a bit twisted. No. We'll just travel back in time.

Fry (excitedly): You mean we can go back in time?!?! COOL!

Leela: Bender, you're a robot. Make some calculations for the trip through time so we can come back two days before we're supposed to get here. That should give us enough time to make the delivery and administer the cure.

Fry: Hey, won't that cause, like, a paradox or something? I mean, if we went back in time two days ago, we wouldn't need to be here.

Leela (deadpan): I don't write the script, I just do what I'm told. Do it, Bender.

Bender (warily): Okaaaay. (works madly on a computer for a few seconds) Done!

Leela: Did you send the calculations to the navigation console?

Bender: Yup.

Amy (from her station in the back of the ship): Hey! What's with all the numbers???

Bender: Woops. Sorry. There ya go, Leela.

Leela: Okay. Hold on to your girders, everybody!

Bender: That's not funny!

A few seconds later the ship seems to disappear and then reapper in normal space.

Leela: That's it. We're though. How far did we come back, Bender?

Bender (checks his computer): Aaaaah... two minutes.

Leela: WHAT?!?!?

Bender: Hey, what did you expect from an alcoholic robot?

Well... it COULD go like that. =D
