Well, I finally got round to watching the Realvideos I downloaded last week and watched the first 3 episodes to garner my own opinion after reading the wide variety of opinions expressed on this and other ng's.
It's not brilliant... yet, but it has the makings of being so. It's obviously still finding it's feet and just setting the scene. The Simpsons took a couple of seasons to establish itself and looking at the early episodes of that now is decidedly odd to say the least, so I would expect the same from Futurama.
As for what I actually thought of the episodes; Smile of amusement most of the way through, with a few loud laughs here and there, mainly centred around Bender (ooerr), and the professor. I particularly liked the comparison of the Moon to the 'Swamp state' of Florida (which no doubt would have been it's nickname had it not been for a certain rodent and his pals). Not quite as deliciously sent up as I would have expected on the Simpsons, but no doubt the writers are still finding their feet on the style of humour they're trying to mould.
Well there you go, another meaningless opinion to add to the (already huge) pile, with the exception of being one of the few opinions from the UK. Looking forward to seeing it properly when it arrives on TV here ion the Autumn.
