I was a little at odds with her fake eye. Her real one, of course, moved around when she looked in different directions, but so did the other one. But, when the Dr. told her to follow the object with eyes, the fake one didn't move. It's miniscule (sp?) i know, but it really bothered me the whole episode. lol.

Personally, I found the two-eyed Leela to be grotesque and freakish. Shows how strong a first impression makes, I guess.

I don't think that is miniscule at all. I mean, it wouldn't have been a big deal if her second eye worked all the time, even when the doctor told her to follow the object. But they made that into a joke, but every other time, her second eye always moved along with her first. It distracted me, as well, because the joke made me keep thinking about it.

Nah, that just means the Korean animation crew didn't get the joke (or at 15cents an hour, didn't care). Only the key frames are done here.

Actually, it looks to me she was deliberately drawn to look less like herself (the eyes were drawn at an angle, making her look a bit like a floozy). Compare her to the two-eyed Leela from "Amazon women in the mood" (you know - her reflection in the rippled water. Great moment, BTW). There she looks way more like Leela we (I, at least) are used to.

This reminds me of something in the commentary on the Clerks Animated Series DVD and how they were talking about Director Han, the Korean animation director that they had foisted upon them who made a lot of mistakes and didn't understand the show. At one point, and I'm not sure if this was exactly it, but they'd specified something like let's say a red car. Director Han would put in a green car. They'd call him up, and his reply would be something to the effect of "Red car, green car, it no matter, your show never air!"
Or something like that. They also accused him of sneaking in things like a bowl of rice into some scenes. It also doesn't sound as good with my lame re-cap, you really have to hear them talk about it on the Clerks Animated DVD commentary ;)
But anyway, the point to all that, was that when Leela's eye was suddenly moving again, my husband and I looked at each other and said "Eye move, eye no move, it no matter your show going to be cancelled!"

Nice to see he's still as bright and witty as ever. But seriously, the gag shoulda gone like this: the fake eye moves in synch with the real one, someone/thing covers the real eye and the fake eye *doesn't* follow it. It's also possible she had a follow-up visit and that little problem was rectified.
I also thought it was fairly self-evident that the real eye getting smaller was part of the surgery.
Thanks for pointing out that it was supposed to be a joke. I don't know if I would have ever figured it out without your help. But you see, humor has to be based in truth, or it's not funny. Now if Futurama were on the bubble, then I would have laughed. Since the show has already been picked up, it's not. Get it?
