According to the Futurama Fan-o-Rama mailing list, Volume 2, Number 12, this is why Futurama Chronicles (frcr.com) is gone:

This is just stunning if true. I see that the main page is now back online with all links non-functional. Snpp.com has been able to run for years with episode capsules and all the same kind of text content frcr.com has had. SNPP was ordered to delete graphics and media files at one point, but it didn't lead to a complete site shutdown. I think if absolutely necessary, Dave should remove the episode transcripts from the capsules along with the media files, but that's it. All of the reviews, writers/directors lists, the episode guide, etc. represent original works and the site's free speech rights. I hope he considers reopening the site with this type of content again. And he hope he publishes the letter from FOX so we could understand what their demands were.
There are other sites out there with massive multimedia content from the show. I can't imagine those will be around much longer if FOX is cracking down on something as harmless as frcr.com. Frcr.com is the kind of site meant to celebrate the fans' appreciation of the show, to let us communicate with each other, and to provide trivia and details that let us learn more about it. I certainly hope FOX made it clear they weren't challenging the site's right to post original textual content written and compiled by fans. If so they really are trying to destroy Futurama from the fan base on up through the producers and TV affiliates.
