I swear that when Dick Clark's Head was talking, you could see Homer Simpson in the crowd in the background! It's way too grainy to make out in the realvideo version I have, and I only saw it for a few seconds, but it was either our lovable Simpson or somebody that looked remarkably like him...
And to make this into babbling(s), Leela's hair looked a little different somehow.
I dont doubt that you did see Homer. Did you notice our old friend the three eyed fish? [While Fry was in the cross town tube] He made it to the 30th century and he got cooked and served to Mr. Burns in 1995, so if Homer made it too, it must be true that cartoons will live forever! BTW, our three-eyed friend has a name--I call him Blinky. Apparently he's a hideous genetic freak from out of the nuclear swill pools of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where he apparently was NOT sterile and was able to reproduce for a thousand years, whereby the Blinkies spread throughout the states and into New York, where they were able to down the Circle Line ship by blinking in unison.
