The $500 Dollar Al Gore Bill's Origin

I just want to say right off that I hope and pray this string doesn't turn into a dreary political back-and-forth like the last one (even though plenty of the messages in that string were mine so I shouldn't complain).

I was just wondering about the $500 dollar Al Gore bill that appeared in "Put Your Head On My Shoulders" (It may have appeared elsewhere but I'm not sure of that). Think about it. They don't put do-nothing presidents like Millard Fillmore on US currency. You have to stand out as a president and make your mark to get your face printed in green as such.

Anybody have any opinions as to what Al Gore might have done, in a Futurama universe, to get his mug on the $500 bill?

Maybe he led the States to victory in war against a nuetral country like Switzerland.
