Some people appear not to like the really obscure references discussed in this newsgroup. As a result, I've scrutinised every single Futurama episode to bring you these somewhat less obscure observations.
Did you notice that...
- Bender is a robot?
- Leela has one eye?
- Fry is from the 20th century? And we've just left the 20th century?
- Futurama is set in the future?
- Futurama is a cartoon series? And it's ficticious (so they say)?
- Professor Farnsworth is old, and wears thick glasses?
I hope that these will provide ample material for discussion...
Oh, the latest episode. I only watched it today because of a number of factors - a very late upload, coupled with my computer's monitor deciding to die somewhat catastrophically[1]. Anyway, the first, internet-related part was excellent; one of my favourite Futurama scenes so far. I wasn't too keen on the latter part, although I suppose some people would have liked it. It was too much like the Titanic one for my tastes - I prefer wild, technological Futuramas. :-)
I'm going to spend hours trying to spot all the ads. Farnsworth really should have considered installing JunkBuster... Those poor rhesus monkeys.
True nerdishness - during the ultra-advanced computer game, I wanted to press 'tab'. I really should cut down on the Counter-Strike...
BTW, just before the crew walk into their respective chatrooms, there's a door in the background with some non-roman text on it. A new alien language, or another Earth alphabet (like the infamous Slurm T-shirt)?

[1] Well, the monitor actually didn't do anything. Which was the problem - it did nothing whatsoever. It behaved as if it wasn't plugged into the mains. Grrr...
