Ok, I know the chances are slim to none that this will happen, but if I had the money I would make it happen. Buy the rights from Fox and/or CC, buy out the contracts of the actors and writers, etc. Hey, I can dream.

Not evidence I can produce. I don't hold on to every link I've ever been to. But I recall that the cost was higher. Possibly it was for a specific episode. And the animation doesn't get cheaper because the value of the animator goes up. Either way it's a pipedream to think one episodes worth of cash could be donated by fans much less a seasons worth.

If I am remebering correctly, the cost of animation, especially good animation, has always been much higher than the cost of most live action movies. I suppose thats the reason that most animaited features were shorts until Disney released Snow White.
