Here's info on my (slow) site (it's usually up Monday-Saturday 5 PM - 8 AM) - I posted this originally in the Family Guy forum (MPEG-2 files are around 400 MB, MPEG-1 are around 220 MB):

Hey all - just wanted to let you know that I'm making my FG eps available on an FTP site. I have most of Season 3 and a few Season 2. They are all SVCD quality - MPEG2, 480x480. I have personally created many, many SVCDs and played them on my Apex DVD player from these files; the quality is very good on a 32" TV. Of course, the files are nearly 400 MB in size so it will take a while to download ... but who cares? :) Just leave it downloading overnight or something ... (my ISP provider limits uploading to around 43.5 KBps for all users combined, which sucks).

I will continue to record new eps as they are broadcast, and they will usually be available within a day or two. I can't guarantee the FTP site will always be up during the day (since it's on my home computer), but it should be at night / overnight when I'm not recording TV programs.

Probably a codec problem. To play MPEG-2 files you either need a software DVD player installed on your computer (WinDVD is the one I use, trial versions of that or others can be downloaded for free) or need the MPEG-2 codec from some other source to allow Windows Media Player to play the file correctly. MPEG-2 files won't normally play correctly on a computer without the proper codecs installed, and WMP doesn't download them for you.

The alternative (if you have a DVD player that can play SVCDs) is to burn the file on a CD in SVCD format (see vcdhelp.com for more info) and watch it via your DVD player.
