Basically, i think it's one of the best animated shows ever- when it first debueted i wasn't sure i would like it being a huge simspsons fan, but i love it- it's so sharp and has a really advanced sence of humor about it. I think fox is making a huge mistake by casting Futurama off like it's been doing for.... well, since after the first season basically! If it was on at a decent time it would gather such a bigger following than it allready has now- plus they are doing the same thing with king of the hill - but they still promote that and everything - what the fuck? why? 7:30 is a terrible time even if it is on a sunday night. I simply don't see why they don't give futurama and king of the hill their own night at 8 and 8:30- followed by who gives a fuck temptation island or some otherpiece of shit- it always seems like they are looking for programming -like when they air the reply of "24" and shit like that fuck man, put futurama on!!!

it has a good following, but it just isnt as popular
but i think in some ways it is good that it aint mainstream b/c then u would meet dorks who would missquote it and ask stupid questions
simpsons fans are everywhere, futurama fans arent and it is just that more special when u meet someone thats into
if it went mainstream, it wouldnt be kewl anymore
but then again the way it seems to be going it may disappear!

well jim i know your point exactly, but i took my view point from things in the past where this had happened, ie south park
but ur also correct in saying that the simpsons (and futurama) are very unique in the notion that they have different levels of humor, that the low brow miss and the middle brow understand

i totally agree, when south park first came out i showed my video tape of it to all my friends who thought it was hilarious... and then i got quite sick of it very quickly... like 3 episodes later. Although that could have been because of its repetitive content.
(south park staff - "little kids swearing... lets put that in this weeks episode!")
now South Park is my second most loathed tv show, second to Charmed of course.
