Due to his absence and "Welshie"'s repeated death. (Actually, I think that was partially a Trek reference. Scotty was struck with lightning at least twice by NOMAD and Apollo) Which is weird because he's usually the one most likely to exploit his Scotty persona on TV for $$$$. I'd heard he'd been ill lately, but I figure the audio for this episode was recorded ages ago.

Erm... try again. He may be in his 80s, but he's still alive.
